It is an autonomous public interest organisation (OIP) founded by the Walloon Government to manage the following matters: Welfare and Health, Disability and Family.

In terms of disability, this Walloon Agency deals with various aspects
- assistance with home adaptation
- the financing of employment policies for people with disabilities
- policies concerning the reception and accommodation of people with special needs
- information on disability
